Feeding Volunteers will assist the Animal Care Staff in preparing meals for all the pets at NEAS. In addition to meal prep, Feeding Volunteers may be required to assist in other tasks as set forth by the Animal Care Manager, Animal Care Supervisors, or Clinic Staff.
Requirements for the position:
- Must be 16 years of age with a permit to volunteer
- Able to read food reports and understanding specific feeding instructions
- Able to measure and mix appropriate portions
- Ability to work well and communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and potentially guests in an empathetic and supportive manner
- Ability to be judgement free in challenging or emotional situations
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast paced, high stress environment
- Consistently and reliably report for scheduled shifts on time
- Carrying bags of dog/cat food up to 50 lbs and stand for 2-3 hours at a time
