Devlin’s new name is Zola (short for Gorgonzola!), and she is the perfect addition to our family!

She loves dinner time and long walks. We live near the Middlesex Fells Reservation and (since she loves being in the car) we take her over there pretty often for some light hiking. We found out (at Wright’s Pond) that she likes to swim, so we recently got her a little pool for the backyard as well (which she loves)! If I had to use one word to describe her though, it would definitely be cuddly. She absolutely loves people. We’ve had a lot of friends over recently for various events (4th of July, both of our birthdays), and she is incredible around our friends. She loves attention, and they love giving it!

She has chewed through many a toy though – so we now just stick to the pretty indestructible stuff. Tug of war is her favorite anyhow, so it works out!

She does have separation anxiety, but it’s already getting better – which, after 3 weeks, is great. We have a schedule that we’ve been sticking to (from our in-house trainer) that slowly gets her comfortable with our short absences. We’re only doing what she can handle. She is very attached to us, but we’ve had positive experiences leaving her with a friend (whom she’s met frequently) on two occasions.

We love her so much, and we’re grateful to the shelter for bringing her into our lives. We can’t thank you enough for really taking the time to provide us with all of the information (both good and bad) necessary to make the right decision for our family. We never felt like you were pressuring us or trying to convince us one way or the other. We felt very supported throughout the whole process.

After just our first night home, we couldn’t imagine how any other family could have returned her. She is certainly our love!

Thanks again for everything!
