We adopted Odin (formerly Salem Popeye) last summer and it’s been a never ending love story ever since.

We chose the name Odin from the widely revered mythological god of European lore.  In the actual Norse mythology, Odin sacrificed his eye in order to gain the Wisdom of Ages. In other words, the eye was meant to be missing, or it wouldn’t have been a sacrifice.  Our Odin doesn’t let a missing eye hinder him a bit.

Odin’s connection to our little family is such a strong one that wherever we go, he goes! Whether we are cooking, getting ready for work or going to bed, he is right there beside us (or on top of us) every step of the way and we wouldn’t change a thing about it!

He is the most loving, intelligent, funny and caring little guy and as a former Floridian he is completely loving all of the snow we have been getting (from inside, of course!) and it’s never a dull moment when he’s around us. I could talk about him all day (and believe me, I talk about him all day, every day) but Odin wanted to send the staff a selfie and say hi to his friends at the shelter.

Thanks again so much for everything you all did at the shelter. He has changed our lives forever and we have changed his!
