Sam, my boyfriend, was the first one to notice Katie (now Sadie). She was lying in her kennel at the shelter looking up at him quietly, while all the other dogs jumped and barked around us. It was love at first sight and luckily we got to take her home only a few days later.
Sadie is a 9 month old, 65 lb ball of love and energy! She is super smart and quickly learning to walk nicely on a leash, not jump when she meets you, sit, down, stay, shake hands, and to trust the world! She went to the dog park for the first time this weekend and had a blast. She loves cuddling on the bed and couch (which is so hard to say no to). We never knew we could love a dog so much. We talked to her foster mom and learned that she had a very rough start to life, which makes this adoption that much sweeter for us. If you are willing to do the work and bring an animal into your family I recommend going to Northeast Animal Shelter. They are so helpful and organized and save animals that otherwise might not have survived.
