When my husband and I lost our 15 year old cat to cancer in late 2016, we knew we wanted to provide a loving home for another rescue cat, and our 3-year-old cat was also anxious to find a new brother or sister to bond with.

Our little orange Birdie (previously Buttercup) is the best new family member and we are so thankful to have her with us. She is so sweet and playful and cuddly, gives kisses and nuzzles, and she and her 3-year-old brother Wembley have already bonded so well. We were nervous bringing a new kitten into the home with Wembley, but as you can see from the photo they are already quite the pair. Thank you, Northeast Animal Shelter, for matching us with Birdie!
