We adopted Lucy in December 2012, when she was about a month old. She was the only grey kitten in her litter, and absolutely tiny. When we took her out she fell asleep right away, nuzzled on our lap. We knew we had found the perfect, calm companion… until we realized we had been tricked! Once home, Lucy became her mischievous, playful, adorable self. In the two years she has been with us, she has really come into her own. Lucy was born as a stray, in a construction site. It has been a journey to make her feel safe and secure, but we wouldn’t trade it for the world.
This is our second cat that we have adopted from NEAS. Our first, Jack, lived to be 15 years old. I cannot recommend NEAS and shelter adoption enough. It is a great mutual reward to be able to give an animal in need a home, and in return to get unconditional love. So, many thanks to the NEAS staff from my family, and Lucy!
