We adopted Candy from NEAS 14 years ago in April 2000. She was only 8 weeks old at the time. They told us she was a lab/basset mix. She was the only tall pup in the litter and she was all black. She was beautiful. She was actually a lab/chow mix. She was the best dog ever. I had 4 young children at the time and she just fit in so well in our family. I am sorry to say she passed away on February 9, 2014, exactly 14 years to the day on her birthday. We miss her so much but my point is please do not forget these animals are at these shelters and they are waiting for YOU to bring them home and give them the best life you can.
